Yesterday, as I was yanking the neatly-created anchor charts off the wall, leaving behind blue painter's tape littered with teeny tiny paper shreds, the song with the lyrics “It’s Coming On Christmas/ They’re Cutting Down Trees” came into my head…except for us it seems like “It’s Coming on ISTEP/ They’re Pulling Down Charts.”
Not nearly as catchy a tune. Just a random thought from a random sort of mind...Mine.

I hate those moments as well. The class feels whole with children's work and ideas plastered on the wall. It seems empty of meaning when state tests come in and charts leave. Good luck, and know that your walls will be filled again soon.
